For the Heritage Collection Laujé uses the finest Vachetta leather, from hides of French origin. Vachetta leather is a premium, vegetable tanned leather prized for its soft, supple texture and natural beauty.
Our Vachetta leather is tanned naturally in Tuscany. For this traditional Tuscan tanning method, natural tannin extracts from Quebracho and Mimosa trees are used, providing the leather with a firm structure and good elasticity.
Our Vachetta leather is finished by hand and painted with stunning aniline colours which add shine, transparency and enhance the natural appearance of the leather.
To establish the best possible interior for your beloved timepieces, the inside of our Heritage Collection pieces are lined with the finest quality Italian tanned suede. Our suede is distinguished by a great softness and
a velvety aesthetic.

At Laujé we care about our the environment just as much as we care about our products. Our Vachetta leather is naturally tanned by a renowned tannery in Tuscany that holds a Gold rating from the Leather Working Group (LWG).
The LWG Gold rating signifies that the tannery meets the highest environmental standards, including efficient water and energy use and minimized waste. Tuscany's tradition of vegetable tanning, used for our Vachetta leather, relies on plant-based tannins rather than harmful chemicals. This method ensures that the leather remains biodegradable, while also supporting local craftsmanship and reducing its carbon footprint.
Our Vachetta leather ensures a durable, high-quality material that ages beautifully and is produced with respect for both the environment as well as ethical practices.
